Good Friday Prayer and Fasting

COVID-19 affects us all, and it’s easy to feel we can’t do anything about it. But we know a God who can. This Good Friday, we are joining together as a global Christian body to seek God, by fasting and praying against COVID-19 and its impact around the world.

This is bigger than our individual family or church. So through prayer, we are joining other United Brethren in Christ, and other denominations here at home and around the globe.

This is not about another program or item to check off your list. It’s about uniting together in prayer as one body on Good Friday, to seek the Lord together and stand in the gap on behalf of our world.

God calls people to seek Him in humility and passionate prayer in times of distress. Consider a few examples:

  • The mighty Assyrian army threatening God’s people: 2 Kings 18-19.
  • The cruel people of Nineveh: Jonah 3.
  • God looks for His people to stand in the gap on behalf of whole nations: Ezekiel 22:30.

The LORD is looking for His children to stand in the gap on behalf of the world during this global pandemic.

Will you join in?
