We want you to participate in the work of Global Ministries. Here are some ways.
First of all, get involved with mission opportunities in your own community and church. One goal of Global Ministries is to mobilize local churches to fulfill the Great Commission both at home and abroad. Your church may already be doing various things–work trips, supporting/praying for our staff, raising funds for missions, etc. But you may need to also expose your people to serving others in your own community and sharing the gospel at home.
Truly missional churches carry out the work of the Great Commission wherever they are. Those who are effective at home tend to be effective overseas.
The work of the Great Commission requires prayer–for those we seek to reach, for our staff, for national leaders, for work groups…for everything. Our staff takes great comfort in knowing that people back in North America are praying for them regularly. Learn more, and sign-up for our Prayer Guide.
Volunteer for a Missions Trip
Global Ministries sponsors several trips for volunteers each year. These teams sometimes fill up quickly. However, if these trips are full, we may be able to point you toward a local church that is sending a team overseas. Short-term trips typically focus on teaching, construction, and healthcare.
You could even take our training to become a mission trip leader. We are always looking for people who can prepare a team to effectively minister.
Funds are always needed. Since our overseas staff must raise their own support, we can direct you to staff who need additional support. Global Ministries needs funds for its own initiatives and daily operations. And then there are projects–many projects–that could allow you to partner with a building project, sponsor a child, provide funds for education, or provide venture capital for a self-supporting minister. Here are ways to give.
Join Our Staff
Perhaps God is calling you to mission service–either as a career move, or on a short-term basis. We’d love to talk to you about that. We may be able to direct you toward a United Brethren assignment or to a partner organization that fits you and your gifts. Learn more.
Keep Your Church Informed
Is someone promoting the work of Global Ministries in your church? If not, perhaps you can become that point person, making your fellow parishioners aware of what we’re doing around the world and mobilizing their support and participation.
