We believe that God continues calling believers into missionary service. The days of sending North Americans is not over.
Global Ministries is looking for individuals who demonstrate a genuine dependence on God, concern for the lost, and consistency in their spiritual, personal, and family life. The nature of missionary work is such that candidates ought to be empathic, able to withhold judgment, tolerant of ambiguity, willing to persevere, and determined to see multiplication occur at every level.
If you are a United Brethren member whom God has called into missionary service, we would love to make you part of the Global Ministries team, whether you serve directly under us or with another organization.
Global Ministries staff fall into several categories, which reflect their relationship with Global Ministries--full-support, endorsed, sojourn, non-traditional, and volunteer. To become part of the Global Ministries worldwide staff, you must meet these qualifications.
General Characteristics
- Be a fully-devoted follower of Christ.
- Possess the training, experience, and education needed to perform the tasks and ministries to which you'll be assigned.
- Be a citizen of your sending country.
UB Membership
You (or for Endorsed Staff at least either the husband or wife in a family) must hold membership in a United Brethren church, and enjoy the support and approval of your local church.
Overseas Focus
The ministry you will engage in must have an overseas focus. This may involve actually relocating to another country, or serving administratively stateside in an organization whose focus is overseas.
Approved Agency (for Sojourn & Endorsed Staff)
Your organization must meet the Global Ministries criteria for a missions agency, which includes being fully qualified to receive tax-exempt monies.
